The least expensive red wine is the 2009 Costieres de Nimes Paradox, a blend of 50% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre and the rest Carignan and Grenache. Copious notes of berry fruit, earth, herbs and spice are present in this medium-bodied, bistro-styled, delicious red that is meant for uncritical drinking. There is not a hard edge to be found in this round, generous 2009. Enjoy it over the next 3-5 years. This excellent Costieres de Nimes estate has fashioned an impressive portfolio of 2009s. Moreover, as with just about any wine from this appellation, prices are fair, making this a treasure-trove of value.Importer: Paul M. Young Fine Wines, Los Angeles, CA; tel. (213) 232-5199
