The non-vintage (all of it is from the 2001 vintage) Little James 2001 is a 100% basket-pressed Grenache cuvee entitled only to a vins de pays designation. I wrote about this wine previously in issue 145, and it is a delicious, richly fruity, exuberant effort possessing sweet tannin, loads of black cherry and blackberry fruit, and an uncomplicated, gutsy style. You can’t ask for more than this for under $10 a bottle. Enjoy it over the next several years.
