The 2009 Hermitage Les Pyrelles is opaque purple and exhibits sweeter tannin than the Crozes-Hermitage as well as more nobility and elegance with its notes of blackberry, creme de cassis, licorice and crushed rock. Full-bodied, it has sweet tannin and plenty of texture and elegance combined with power. It is a classic 2009 to drink over the next 15-20 years.
