These are competent though rarely exciting wines, but they have certainly increased in quality over recent vintages. The best of the Cotes du Rhone cuvees is the 2005 Premier Terroir, which has a dark ruby color and an excellent nose of raspberry, cherry, earth, pepper, and spice.
