The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet is sourced around half from Chanson’s own vines and supplemented by contracted fruit, mainly from the northern side of the village. It has a light, slightly earthy bouquet that needs more vigor and more of Chassagne’s joie-de-vivre. The palate has a pleasing entry of red apple and a hint of mandarin, moderate acidity, but a rather foursquare finish. Drink now-2016.
