The 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo reveals a thin and fragile approach, with delicate tones of wild cherry, cassis, bitter almond and grilled herb. This big release of some 80,000 bottles shows simplicity and a no-nonsense approach that reinforces the accessible, near-term drinking style on offer here. Pair it with a mushroom soup and fresh bread.

The 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo reveals directness and cutting clarity. Some of that is due to the alcohol (although I did not notice what the recorded alcohol is). It may appear more powerful than it really is. This is a compact wine with an intense personality. Dark fruit flavors of blackberry and cherry liqueur define the close.

The Cascina Chicco 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo is a genuine and straightforward red wine to pair with veal or succulent pork chops. The fruit is simple and bright, with subtle tones of cherry cola, grilled herb and black olive at the back.

The 2009 Langhe Nebbiolo offers up sweet dusty red cherries, crushed flowers and spices, showing lovely mid-palate pliancy and terrific overall balance. The 2007 Langhe Nebbiolo shows plenty of density and richness in a core of sweet, perfumed fruit framed by firm yet well-integrated tannins. This is an especially soft, forward Nebbiolo perfect for near-term drinking. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
