The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva is 90% Sangiovese with 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot aged in both botte and barrique. This is a very pretty wine with nice ripeness and a touch of dried raspberry that hits the spot. The fruit works well alongside the natural freshness of the variety. Beyond those red fruit nuances are earthy or autumnal tones. The wine is simple, honest and true to Chianti Classico. Some 15,000 bottles were released.
