Aged mostly in stainless steel with a small 20% that finishes in oak, the 2018 Chardonnay extends over the palate with broad aromas of orchard fruit and apple. There is freshness here, but that zesty brightness you might be looking for is downplayed in this warm vintage. Freshness should be a given thanks to the cool positioning of the vines at 430 meters in elevation and the schistous galestro soils of the site. Production is 10,000 bottles.

The 2011 Chardonnay opens to an off-gold color and creamy aromas of almond butter, passion fruit and mango. The wine shows thick consistency and smooth entry onto the palate. It offers a pretty sense of dryness in the mouth with subtle touches of sweet apricot and yellow fruit on the finish.

The 2010 Chardonnay (an IGT Toscana) opens to a off-gold color and shows thick aromas of exotic fruit, papaya, honeydew melon, churned butter and toasted almond. The wine boasts its craftsmanship with evident oak highlights and a dense, supple mouthfeel that lingers long on the palate. The 2010 vintage delivers just enough natural acidity to help the wine from feeling unnecessarily sticky or heavy.

Capannelle’s 2008 Chardonnay is made in a rich, buttery style that showcases the more extroverted qualities of the grape.
