This entry-level white shows an easy and food-friendly personality, especially if paired with fried Sardinian appetizers like little fennel frittelle. The 2017 Vermentino di Sardegna Prendas is redolent of lemon, white grapefruit and fresh almond. The winemaking approach here is simple and direct, using cold temperatures and a brief 45 days of lees contact that adds just a bit more volume and body to this compact, streamlined white. Some 70,000 bottles were made.
