The 2008 Terlaner Riserva Nova Domus is big, rich and expansive. Layers of rich, tropical fruit are buffered by vibrant acidity in this broad-shouldered, expressive white. I especially like the way the wine blossoms on the mid-palate and finish. Early tertiary notes have begun to develop in the bottle, but the 2008 still has many years of fine drinking ahead of it. The Nova Domus is a classic blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, aged in casks and smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. These new releases from Cantina di Terlano are impressive. As much as I admire the top wines, I simply adore the entry-level bottlings for their unbeatable combination of quality, value and regional/varietal typicity.Importer: Banville & Jones Wine Merchants, New York, NY; tel.
