A blend of 60% Carignano and 40% Syrah, the 2009 Isola dei Nuraghi Malombra shows a very large frame (with a huge oak imprinting) and massive density that sits heavy and determined on the palate. The impenetrable appearance of the wine is reinforced by thick lines of Morello cherry, dried blackberry, leather, Indian spice and moist chewing tobacco. The wine walks with a heavy footprint and should be paired next to a cut of succulent red meat.
