The 2005 Carignano Buio is a full-bodied, powerful offering. Sadly, the French oak completely overwhelms the dark fruit and dominates in the wine’s balance. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011. Mesa is one of the newer properties in Sardinia. Quality thus far has been somewhat irregular but hopefully the estate will get a handle on its wines in the coming years.
