2006 No 6 Shiraz comes from 3 individual plantings and it was matured in 10% new French oak barriques with the balance being 1-4 year old wood. Very deep garnet colored, the nose is just starting to move away from primary fruit with the spice and earth characteristics leading – cinnamon, cloves and tree bark – plus an undercurrent of warm blackberries, Chinese dried plum, black olive and black pepper. Crisp, rich and full bodied, this is quite a structured style presenting medium-firm, chewy tannins and a good amount of savory flesh lasting long into the finish. Drink it now to 2016. Brothers in Arms’ No 6 label is dedicated to the 6th generation of Adams family growers on this estate’s vineyards, established in 1891.Importer: Vintage Point, Sonoma, CA; www.vintagepoint.com
