The 2019 Chardonnay Cascadia has lovely pure scents of key lime pie, graphite and mushroom powder with a core of quince paste and jasmine perfume. The satiny palate derives energy from bright, refreshing acidity juxtaposed by broader, savory fruits. It finishes long, energetic and layered.

After some time in the glass, the 2018 Chardonnay Cascadia opens to dried chamomile and apple slices with notes of hay, candle smoke, roasted almonds and beeswax. The palate is broad and creamy with expansive, honeyed layers, finishing with great length and powerful flavor. It's pure pleasure!

The 2016 Chardonnay Cascadia has an inviting nose of baked apples, crushed hazelnut, clover honey, orange blossom, clotted cream and stone with a classy framing of sweet spice. The light to medium-bodied palate is intense, gaining focus and precision in the mouth as the juicy acidity comes through, finishing long and textured. I love this classic Oregon play between richness and structural precision. 214 cases produced.

The 2015 Chardonnay Cascadia is scented of tangy lemon and red apple skin with nuances of struck match, toasted almonds, dried hay and warm earth. Medium-bodied, it offers lots of energy in the mouth with flavors of warm red apple, hazelnut, toast and acacia blossom. It has a slightly creamy texture and great tangy acidity, finishing long and packed with flavor. 360 cases produced.

The 2014 Chardonnay Cascadia is a "best barrel" selection from two of the estate's four blocks. It was picked on 12 September and drained directly into barrel, of which 15% is new. The selection was made and moved into stainless steel for a further six months. It has a really quite lovely bouquet with yellow flowers, minerals, citrus fruit and a hint of white chocolate. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, full of energy with a poised, almost Chassagne-like finish. Another excellent Chardonnay courtesy of winemaker Doug Tunnel.
