The yet to be released 2008 Gemina Fundacion is an opaque purple-colored blend of 80% old-vine Monastrell and 20% Petit Verdot. Its brooding personality gives up aromas of Asian spices, incense, a hint of balsamic, and assorted black fruits leading to a tightly wound wine that will require 3-4 years of additional cellaring. All the right stuff seems to be present but only time will tell.Bodega San Isidro, located in Jumilla, works primarily with own-rooted Monastrell.Importer: American Estate Wines, Summit, NJ; Tel.
