The 2010 Vega Sindoa Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 10 months in French oak) exhibits aromas of tobacco leaf, toast, black currants, damp earth and a hint of espresso roast as well as good ripeness, medium body and a soft, velvety mouthfeel. Drink it over the next several years.
Bodegas Nekeas, a high-quality, value-priced winery owned by eight families in Navarra, owns over 577 acres of relatively high elevation vineyards. Most of the vines were planted between 1989 and 1997, with the exception of their superb old vine Grenache vineyard, El Chaparral, which was planted between 1890 and 1930. The white wines are all fresh, lively, perfumed offerings that represent killer values.
