The purple-colored 2006 XCLNT is composed of 40% Garnacha, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Syrah aged in barrique for 18 months. The nose reveals new oak, spice box, tobacco, leather, black currant, and blueberry. On the palate it is ripe, round, and plush with plenty of succulent black fruit, enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years, and potential complexity. Drink this lengthy effort from 2012 to 2021. The 2005 XCLNT is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah, and 20% Garnacha. It was aged for 16 months in French oak A bit more internationally styled, the wine is a thick opaque purple in color. It delivers a classy bouquet of wood smoke, tobacco, blueberry, black currant, and cherry with a hint of chocolate in the background. This leads to a full-bodied, opulent wine with bundles of spicy, ripe black fruits which are already revealing some complexity. Give this nicely balanced wine another 3-5 years to blossom and drink it through 2025. The Care wines are produced by Bodegas Anadas. It was founded in 2000 and owns 100 hectares of vines. There is enough baby fat to make the wine enjoyable now and it should continue to drink well for at least a decade.
