Baron de Ley’s newest collection includes one white wine, the 2008 Reserva Blanco, a blend of 90% Viura with 10% Garnacha Blanca and Malvasia that spent 9 months in American oak barriques. Medium-gold in color from the oak regimen, it gives up a toasty, floral, and lemon-scented bouquet that leads to a wine with vibrant but elevated acidity. It certainly has the structure to last but will the acidity calm down enough for the wine to provide pleasure?
