The 2010 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Cultus Boni shows an immediate dusting of spice, candied fruit and ashy mineral. The Gaiole area has a more difficult time reaching ripeness in cooler years, and although the 2010 is considered excellent across the region, the fruit is sharper and thinner here. What is lacks in intensity, it makes up for in freshness because of variable weather conditions in September and cooler nighttime temperatures.
