The 2009 Pinot Noir Sunnyside Single Vineyard was sourced from a site planted in the early 1970s. The nose is a bit reticent but does reveal notes of dried herbs, spices, and red fruits. The 2008 Pinot Noir Sunnyside Single Vineyard was aged for 10 months in 11% new oak. It exhibits an inviting bouquet of spice box, earth notes, rose petal, incense, raspberry, and cherry. Medium-bodied with moderate intensity and depth, it has ample savory fruit and a sense of elegance. The Sunnyside Pinot Noirs are consistently pretty wines, with tempting aromas of ripe cherries, underscored with spicy herb. Barrel aging brings a chocolate wash to the finish; all in all a very drinkable effort best enjoyed when young. ——P.G.(12/15/2010)—— 89
