Readers who have tasted Sauvignon-De-Saint-Bris before will understand my reluctance when I was served a sample of De Moor's 1996. I had never tasted a good wine from this appellation, the only white Burgundy that is Sauvignon Blanc-based, and therefore braced myself for another insipid, unripe, and acidic wine. Boy, was I wrong! De Moor's Sauvignon-De-Saint-Bris Reserve Vieilles Vignes is a scrumptious, exciting, and fun wine. Mouth-watering aromas of blueberries and violets are followed by a rich, medium-bodied, intense, juicy, and tangy core of crisp red currants, minerals, and lively citrus fruits.
