The 2018 Merlot Wetzel Family Estate has a medium ruby color with red and black cherry fruit with accents of saddle leather, graphite, dried herbs and bitter chocolate. The palate is light to medium-bodied with a chewy frame, lacking concentration and dropping off on the finish. 30,000 cases were made.

The medium ruby colored 2017 Merlot Wetzel Family Estate has a nose of black plum, eucalyptus, leather, cedar, black cherries and underbrush with red berries and potpourri hints. Medium-bodied with savory/earthy fruits, the palate has firm, chalky tannins and juicy acidity to lift the finish. 17,500 cases produced.

The 2016 Merlot Wetzel Family Estate is medium garnet-purple colored and offers up notes of warm black plums, blackberries and potpourri with hints of spice box and cedar. Medium-bodied, soft and juicy fruited in the mouth, it delivers plenty of uncomplicated fruit and a refreshing burst at the finish. 16,000 cases produced.

Composed of 88% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Syrah, the solidly made, deep ruby/purple-colored 2008 Merlot Estate exhibits notes of roasted herbs, white chocolate, black cherries and currants.
