The 2012 Crianca Lignum, a blend of 60% Garnacha, 25% Carinena and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in Allier oak barrels, needs time to absorb the notes of wood that dominate the nose and the palate. The wine itself is medium-bodied, a little light and not terribly complex, with barely enough fruit to stand the wood regime imparted to it. Drink 2015-2017. Albet i Noya is one of the pioneers in organic farming in Spain: the winery started producing organic wines in 1978. They produce a grand total of 1.2 million bottles, both still and sparkling.
