The 2014 Corton Clos des Maréchaudes Grand Cru (Domaine du Pavillon) has a candied, cola-tinged bouquet that just seems a little "heady.". The palate is nicely balanced with just a touch of chewiness. The tannins feel quite bold, perhaps a touch of heaviness on the finish, though there is appreciable density here. Give it a year or two in bottle to lose some of its broodiness.
