The 2016 Dry Riesling comes in with seven grams per liter of residual sugar and 11.5% alcohol. It was sourced from plots averaging 12 and 15 years of age. New Jersey and Riesling? Well, based on this, yes. This is very pretty, a white that opens tight and crisp, with just a hint of petrol early on. It is classic in aromatics and flavors. The concentration is average, but it evolves beautifully. The good acidity and stonewashed demeanor are pulled into the whole as it opens, warms and airs, allowing it to show off a little more fruitiness too. The petrol blows off. It ends with a lingering finish that has a bit of tension. This might well last 10 years, but 5 to 7 is probably safer. Let's see it hold well. It might be entitled to an uptick at some point.

Creamy and fresh on the nose and followed by a play of good acidity and body, this Riesling from New Jersey is both supple and refreshing. The flavors fall a bit flat though—and need more dimension.——S.K.(2/1/2008)—— 83
