The 2011 Freisa La Bernardina is a beautiful wine loaded with deep layers of fruit and tons of personality. The Bernardina is made in a slightly sparkling style, which only adds to its immensely pleasing personality. This is a totally delicious wine from Accornero. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2013. The 2010 Freisa La Bernardina is a serious wine with excellent up-front boldness in its dark red fruit. Though young and naturally quite vinous, the Bernardina has more than enough body to stand up to a wide range of foods. It is a great introduction to this quirky Piedmontese grape.
