The 2007 Marche Rosso Pelago is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Montepulciano and 10% Merlot, a blend created by Giacomo Tachis. Here, too, the wine impresses for its power and richness. There is no shortage of super-ripe jammy fruit and French oak. Finesse and elegance, on the other hand, prove much more elusive. I am not sure the new oak tannins will ever fully integrate.
