The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is the highest alcohol version of this wine they’ve produced yet, though it still seems modest by South Australia standards at around 15%. Very deep garnet-purple in color, it reveals intense warm black currant and black cherry preserve aromas with underlying earth, soy and black olive notes plus nuances of Mediterranean herbs, bay leaf and dark chocolate. Very crisp, concentrated and mouth-filling, it provides medium-firm finely textured tannins and a long, layered finish. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2018.
