The immense progress this estate has achieved over the last few years is noticeable in their white wine program. It is rare that I can recommend a white wine from Lirac, but Domaine de la Mordoree's 1995 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois, a blend of 35% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette, 15% Marsanne, 15% Roussanne, and 15% Viognier, is a serious, barrel-fermented white wine. It exhibits gobs of honeyed tropical fruit, a subtle touch of oak, and low acidity in its plump, plush texture. This wine should be drunk before the end of 1997.Importer: Kysela Pere et Fils, Winchester, VA; tel (540) 888-7939
