From the cask, the 1983 Langoa-Barton was impressively deep in color, full bodied, admirably concentrated, but extremely tannic. However, although it appears to have the fruit to outlast the aggressive tannins, I feel this is a rustic, somewhat old-style, attenuated wine that comes across a bit clumsily. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 3/89.
