The Feraud father and daughter are proteges of the great Henri Bonneau. Their wines are closest in style to Bonneau's Cuvee des Celestins. While none of the offerings reviewed in this section will be as extraordinary as the wine produced in 1990, 1989, 1985, and 1981, their 1992 and 1993 are among the top wines of the vintage. The 1993 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a saturated dark ruby/purple color, and a spicy, peppery, jammy bouquet of black fruits, damp earth, and herbs. Rich and full-bodied, with excellent, potentially outstanding concentration, this wine will last for 15+ years. It may merit an outstanding score after bottling, which is done naturally, with minimal fining and no filtration. Importer: Dan Kravitz, Hand Picked Selections, Warrenton, VA; Tel. (703) 347-3471
