There are 300 cases of the 2004 FDRIA, a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Shiraz sourced from vines at least 25 years of age. Much of the wine (46%) was aged in new American oak hogsheads, the balance in seasoned French and American hogsheads. Opaque purple-colored, it displays a nose of toasty oak, graphite, spice box, black currant, and blackberry. This leads to a medium-bodied wine with an elegant personality. Balanced, concentrated, and savory, it is all about finesse. Give it 2-3 years to fully blossom and drink it through 2020. Yalumba has devoted considerable effort to bringing out the best in Viognier.Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 359-0993
