The 2005 Cote Rotie Reserve du Domaine has a much deeper ruby/purple color than the 2004 and a big, sweet nose of flowers, black raspberry, cassis as well as a hint of olive. It is a superb vintage for Ogier with sweet tannin, full body, and stunning concentration and depth. This cuvee of Cote Rotie should last for 10-15 years and is aged in about 40% new oak. The Ogiers are a wonderful family, and it’s gratifying to see the extraordinary quality of wine that continues to emerge from them. The son Stephane has taken over fully from his dad, who seems to be inching into full retirement, and continues to push the estate to higher and higher levels of quality.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
