The 2012 Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera takes a much appreciated read of the hot vintage in which elegance and finesse are made a priority. This is not one of those over extracted and impenetrable red wines from the Tuscan coast. Instead, this pretty Bolgheri Superiore offers good fruit intensity with dark berry and plum backed by integrated spice, leather and tobacco. In the mouth, this blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is silky and long with a touch of berry sweetness on the close.
