The 2005 Shiraz was sourced from a 40-year-old estate vineyard cropped at 2 tons per acre. The wine was aged for 18 months in neutral American oak. Purple-colored, it has a savory nose of spice box, black currant, and blueberry. Medium-bodied and made in an elegant style, flavors of blueberry muffin and licorice emerge on the palate to add complexity. There is enough concealed tannin to carry this Shiraz for several more years of development. Drink it through 2020. Importer: Ken Onish and John Gorman, Southern Starz; www.margan.com.au
