As in past vintages, this is a fairly tough, tannic red wine, a little burly around the edges but stylish. A Petite Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend, it’s very ripe in blackcurrant, berry-cherry marmalade, and dusty spice flavors, and fully dry. Seems best now, and good with grilled beef, or try with beef, pork or chicken tamales. ——S.H.(11/1/2008)—— 87
