The 2011 Vi?edos Viejos is a selection of old vine Mencía from slope vineyards on clay and quartz sand; the wine fermented with indigenous yeasts and was aged for one year in barrel. It feels ripe and quite influenced by the élevage. The palate reveals abundant tannins, a slightly dusty, rustic texture and a faint bitter finish. 15,000 bottles were filled in September 2013.
