Of the four reds offered for tasting by Cellers El Masroig (three from the challenging 2003 vintage) only the 2005 Sola Fred could be recommended. Composed of 90% Carignan and 10% Grenache, the wine is medium ruby in color with a vibrant nose of pure red cherry. This is followed by a soft, supple wine with forward red fruit flavors and no hard edges. Drink this excellent value over the next 12-18 months.
