The 2004 Clos Fonta is a blend of 30% Garnacha Peluda, 25% Garnacha Pais, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Carinena aged for 14 months in French oak. The expressive bouquet offers up an array of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, incense, and black cherry. In the mouth black plum, cherries, and cassis make an appearance along with notes of chocolate and tobacco. A combination of elegance and power along with excellent integration of the oak are impressive. This lengthy effort will have a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2024.
