Another burly, structured wine is the 2013 C?te R?tie Seigneur de Maugiron. Like all of the wines from Delas, it was completely destemmed and aged 12 months in 30% new French oak. Black currants, smoked earth, charcoal and lots of minerality show on the nose, and on the palate it’s medium-bodied, concentrated and tannic with solid mid-palate depth. Give bottles 3-4 years and enjoy over the following decade.
