The Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated 1994 Olmo's Reward has an intriguing, BV Private Reserve Rutherford style to it. The wine possesses a dark ruby/plum color, and sweet black currant/cassis fruit intermixed with spicy oak and loamy soil-like notes. Tannic, long, rich, and medium-bodied, this youthful, slightly aggressive wine needs 2-3 years of bottle age. It should keep for 12-15 years. Good dark red. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, red- and blackcurrants, and nutty, spicy oak; suggestion of crystallized fruit. Slightly high-toned and very youthful, with an intense, tart red berry flavor; today the franc dominates. Plenty of acidity. Finishes firmly but not excessively tannic. Much less forthcoming than the excellent '93 was at the same stage.
