The 1999 Barolo Prapo, cask aged, with attractive spice and caramel on the nose and good length and vigor on the palate, is a bit tightly wound, slightly dry and aggressive on the finish. I may be underestimating this wine, but the toughness of the tannins is a bit worrisome. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2016.
