The 2006 Citius Pinot Noir (a rarely seen grape in Spain except in the Penedes Cava region where it is used in sparkling wine) spent 19 months in seasoned French oak. It gives up a charming perfume of sandalwood, Asian spices, incense, and black cherry. Smooth-textured, savory, and moderately concentrated, it lacks the complexity of the finest Pinot Noirs but it displays plenty of varietal character. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. The Alta Pavina label is produced by Great Wines From Spain.Importer: South River Imports, Edgewater, MD; Tel. (240) 401-9342
