A pretty, elegant and complex wine, the 2006 St Joseph les Pierres comes all from the Cote-Belley lieu-dit in the northern part of the appellation and spent 16-18 months in new barrels. Its deep ruby color is followed by outstanding notes of black olives, black raspberries, spice and hints of meatiness. Complex, fresh and about as drinkable as they come, with medium-bodied richness and lots of fruit, it’s another terrific wine that epitomizes the charming nature of this vintage.
