The 2006 Reserva (100% Tempranillo) spent 12 months in American oak. Reticent aromatically, with coaxing it gives up a pleasing perfume of smoke, mineral, spice box, blackberry, and a hint of balsamic. Spicy on the palate with plenty of volume, this lengthy effort exhibits an elegant personality and plenty of length. Give it 2-3 years of additional cellaring and drink it through 2021.
