The 2010 Corton-Charlemagne comes across as quite powerful. At the same time there is a sense of inner restraint that gives the wine much of its tension. Apricots, pineapple, mint and white flowers are layered into the silky, textured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020.
Domaine des Croix is just around the corner from Camille Giroud, where winemaker David Croix is also in charge. The Domaine des Croix wines are typically made in a forward, fruit-driven style. Although the wines can age, my preference is to drink them on the young side. In 2010, yields came in around 20-25 hectoliters, very low by any measure. I tasted most of the 2010s from barrel, except as noted.
