The dark ruby-colored 2007 Mourvedre was aged for 20 months in a mix of new and used French oak. It offers up alluring aromas of mineral, mushroom, underbrush, and blueberry. On the palate it has plenty of flavors but comes off as a bit compressed and lean in the finish. Even so, it is a fine example of this grape.
The venerable Turkey Flat Vineyard has been owned by the Schutz family since 1865.
