Much Brunello from the 1994 vintage was either cooked by the relentless heat wave of July and August or wearied by three years of cask aging, but not this Riserva. Full, brilliant garnet with ruby highlights. Ample, sustained, varietally accurate aromas of sweet plum, raspberry and redcurrant. Rich, succulent and layered in the mouth; very ripe but without a hint of fatigue or evolution. Much force and warmth from the alcohol. Caressing on the palate and echoing on the aftertaste.
