The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva emerges from the glass with dried cherries, sweet herbs, mint, licorice and incense. This is an especially finessed style for the year, but there is plenty of structure and length. If opened young, the 2006 Riserva needs quite a bit of air.
