From a new bio-dynamically run vineyard just outside the limits of Ribera del Duero (and a neighbor of the more famous Abadia Retuerta), this 2002 is a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. Aromas of blueberries, melted licorice, cedar, smoke, and vanilla soar from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored offering. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, with a Bordeaux-like textural profile, beautiful purity, and abundant quantities of fruit as well as spice, it will drink well for 7-8 years.
